Belgrade Open, Belgrade Trophy, or International Belgrade Open Chess Championship. This is traditional chess torunament which will take place from November 27th - December 05th, 2008.
Prize fund is 6000 EUR (1st Place - 1200 EUR) consists of 15 best place and 8 special prizes.
The Championship will be played in 9 rounds according to the FIDE Swiss System (computer pairing). The rate of play is 2 hours for 40 moves plus 30 minutes till the end of the game.
The organizer has provided participation of minimum 20 foreign players, to make possible achievemnet of international norms for FIDE titles.
Tournament protector is Parliament of Belgrade City.
